Your Mission:
Step One: identify character traits of your chosen character, also include a quote from the novel that indicates the character trait. Write the name of the trait and the quote on a piece of construction paper, cut out and tape to your life size character.
Example: “Mary waded only a little while. She said the gravel hurt her feet, and she sat on a log and patiently slapped at mosquitoes. But Laura slapped and kept wading. When she stepped, the gravel hurt her feet. When she stood still, the tiny minnows swarmed about her toes and nibbled them with their tiny mouths. It was a funny squiggling feeling.”
In this passage, Laura is demonstrating that she is adventurous.
Step Two: Trace yourself on butcher block paper - re-create your favourite character from your novel that you registered with Mrs. Watt by drawing and painting them using you as the base. You should "dress" your character in clothes that they wore in the book, their hair colour/cut and any other distinguishing features (did they wear glasses, did they wear a specific hat?) should be included on your character.
